Skater Wryn

Skater Wryn (4)

Morning all! It’s Tiddly Tuesday and over at the Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog we want to see any Tiddly makes with the theme of ‘Frosty Feeling’!

I was quite poorly at the weekend. It takes a lot to stop me in my tracks but this bug sure has. Even yesterday I didn't feel up to getting in the craft room. So armed with my Copics, the sofa, a fleecy blanket and the TV I set about creating a card just from colouring.

This is Skater Wryn:

Skater Wryn (2)

I knew the scene I wanted to create but wasn't quite sure where to start, so I consulted Mr Google to have a look at pictures of frozen lakes, lightly sketched the background in pencil and then set to work with my Copics.

Skater Wryn (1)

I used the night sky technique from one of the earlier Kit & Clowder Monthly classes, but the rest I attempted myself. And I have to say I’m really proud of myself, because about halfway through I thought it looked a mess, but as Alyce tells us, I kept going and I think it looks quite good.

Supplies:

  • Image: Skater Wryn by Tiddly Inks
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • Sentiment: with the digi download
  • Card: Black Card, Dark Grey Mirri Card and Copic X-Press It Blending Card
  • Dies & Punches: Tonic Scalloped Layering Dies
  • Embellishments: Gesso Dots (for the stars and the ice skate trail)

Holly Wreath

Holly Wreath (3)

Hello all and happy Friday! It’s midway inspiration time for the current challenge over at the Polkadoodles Challenge Blog. As always it’s Anything Goes but we are sharing some Christmas but NOT a Card creations.

I have made a Christmas Holly Wreath:

Holly Wreath (2)

The idea for this came about because I was lucky enough to get my inky little paws on a Brother Scan and Cut machine and me and Mr 6 (who’s loves any gadget of any kind) were having a play to see what the machine could do.  And one of the things we did was fill an A4 page with a Holly Leaf from the Festive Christmas Download, print, scan it in and cut out all the leaves. I don’t think I would have attempted this if I’d had to fussy cut all those leaves!

Holly Wreath (4)

To assemble the wreath, I used two large circle dies to cut out two rings from Kraft card. I fixed these together with foam pads and then wrapped it with red paper raffia (which makes it look nice and tidy from the back as well). I then die cut about three of the Cherry Blossom Branch Dies from Kraft card, chopped them up and fixed to the wreath. Next step was gluing the leaves into pairs and once dry onto the wreath. The last step was to cover any little gaps with a mix of paper roses, flowers die cut (using the Cherry Blossom Branch Die set) from red and gold card with pearls for centres and a nice big bow.

Minnie’s Christmas Gift

Minnie's Gift (3)

Morning All! It’s Fab Friday over at Tiddly Inks Challenge Blog and I have made yet another Christmas Card!

I’ve fallen in love with the Minnie images, the hair is just so cute. So I’ve made another very Clean and Simple (for me) Christmas Card this time using Minnie’s Gift:

Minnie's Gift (2)

A little bit of no-lines colouring on this one and those glasses were just crying out for some Glossy Accents.

Minnie's Gift (1)

As with the last card I made with Minnie, I’ve purposely kept the card flat in case I post it to someone

Supplies:

  • Image: Minnie’s Gift from Tiddly Inks
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: Old DCWV 6x6 Pad
  • Card: Green Card, Kraft Card and Copic X-Press It Blending Card

O Christmas Tree

Christmas Tree (5)

Happy Thursday everyone! It’s a bit chilly here again today and I’m battling a nasty headache, so I’m taking a few minutes out with a cuppa and a snuggle on the sofa to share a little Polkadoodley-ness with you.

I’ve been having a proper good play with the Bubbleicious Frames Dies and you may be surprised how I’ve used them:

Christmas Tree (4)

I die cut about 8 of the small and large flowers, cutting each flower into quarters and then layered up all the pieces adding chopped up bits of the Cherry Blossom Branch Die to make a Christmas Tree.

Christmas Tree (1)

And did you spot the frame die?

Christmas Tree (6)

I chopped off the top and bottom to use as border dies.

Christmas Star

DSC07476

Morning all! It’s time for another challenge over at the Crafty Sentiments Designs Challenge Blog. This time we have a fabulous theme of   ‘Winter’!

And some of the best things about winter are cosy nights, cold days wrapping up warm and of course Christmas. Here is my card using the rubber stamp Christmas Star:

DSC07471

I’ve made a lot of square cards for Christmas so far this year so for a change I’ve made a tent fold card with the topper off the edge (couldn’t think of a snappy name for it – any suggestions?).
