Love is in the Air….

Girl and Heart (1)Love Birds Cage (2)

Afternoon All. I’m here, a little later than planned, as I’ve been dithering over new carpet all morning. I’m terrible at making decisions….hubby has been laughing at me. I keep saying ‘That one’s too brown’, ‘That ones too dark’, etc, etc, and he looks at me bewildered and says they all look the same to him…haha! Oh well I will get there eventually!

Anyhoo, I’m here to share a couple of cards I made as GDT over at Jellypark Challenge Blog. The theme for this challenge is Love so I have made a couple of Valentine’s cards.

This first one uses Girl Hugging Heart and is available as part of the ‘Love is in the Air’ bundle here:

Girl and Heart (2)

I thought I would try and steer clear of traditional red this year and used a soft pink and green colour scheme.

Supplies (Girl Hugging Heart):

  • Image: Love is in the Air bundle from Jellypark
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: Lili of the Valley ‘Baskets & Bunnies’ Paper Pad
  • Card: Beige Card
  • Stamps: Sentiment from a Kraftin Kimmie Stamp Hannah with Hearts
  • Ink: Distress Inkpad ‘Gathered Twigs’
  • Dies & Punches: X-Cut Square Punch
  • Embellishments: Satin Hearts

The second card uses the image ‘Love Birds’ from the same bundle.

Love Birds Cage (1)

I Google'd Lovebirds and tried to colour them in similar colours. As the colours are quite striking I  kept the rest of the card quite clean and simple.

Supplies (Girl Hugging Heart):

  • Image: Love is in the Air bundle from Jellypark
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: Lili of the Valley ‘One Birdie Lane’ Paper Pad
  • Card: Aqua and Lemon Card
  • Embellishments: Dymo Label Sentiment and Doodling with a fine line pen

Rocket Man

Morning All. Just a quick post from me as I’m supposed to be packing…we’re off on a holiday. Let’s keep our fingers crossed this nice weather continues as we’re going to the Lake District. I can’t wait to just chill out and spend time with family.

Anyhoo, enough of my waffle, it’s time for a new challenge at Jellypark and this time our theme is…

Red, White and Blue

I’ve used the fabulous Moon and Stars bundle set and here is my card…

I did something I’m not in the habit of doing lately….I coloured the image before picking my patterned papers! And guess what nothing went with the bright colours so I made my own background.

I started with a piece of white card, inked it all over with Adirondack Denim ink and then sprayed it with Crafters Companion Iridescent Spray & Sparkle. I added splatters of white acrylic paint as I thought these would look like planets and stars. I’ve also added a die cut number covered in white acrylic paint and the sentiment has also been stamped using the paint so everything ties together.

All Things Sporty

Morning All. Up with the  Larks this morning….someone forgot to tell my children it’s the weekend!! I should have posted yesterday but I spent all day pottering about in the garden and making the most of the weather. I even had my first harvest…one radish and a load of new potatoes :-)

Anyhoo, a new challenge started yesterday at Jellypark and this time our theme is …

All Things Sporty

I have used Footballer to make my Dad a Fathers Day Card.  He’s a Newcastle United fan so I have coloured image to match. Here is my card…

I’m still on the fence as to whether or not I really like this card. Something isn’t quite right but I’m not sure what exactly….never mind my Dad will love it.

Father and Kids

Morning All. As you read this we will packing up ready to head home from our little trip, but we have booked quite a late ferry back to Southampton so we can still make the most of our last day here.

It’s time for a new challenge at Jellypark and this time our theme is a super simple…

Use a Jellypark Image

Now the not so simple bit will be deciding which of Claire’s fantastic Jellypark images to choose. I’ve used Father and Kids and the best thing about this image is that all of the proceeds go to the charity Willow. To read more about this click here. Here is my card…

I was a bit last minute making this card for my little ones to give their dad on his birthday, so a quick CAS card. That’s why I love Jellypark images. Claire draws them so beautifully that it doesnn’t matter whether you spend a couple of hours colouring them or a couple of minutes. Mine was the latter this time so please don’t look to closely ;-)

Rose Bunny Rabbit

Rose Bunny Rabbit (2)

A very early start for me as my little girl (15 months) has only just got her first tooth and is teething really badly. She has been awake on and off most of the night as I think most of the teeth are now coming through at the same time :-(

While I’m up (and have a few minutes peace) I wanted to share my creation for the latest challenge that started yesterday over at Jellypark Friends and our theme this time is:

Happy Easter

I’ve used an adorable image Rose Bunny Rabbit to make an Easter gift for my little girl. It only has a few little chocolate in it as she is bit young to have a big egg, but she does like a little treat….don’t we all?

Rose Bunny Rabbit (1)

The basic shape is a tent card but I haven’t sealed the top and I made a little cellophane bag for the inside. I have used eyelets and ribbon to tie it shut so that it can be used over and over as a little treat bag.

Supplies:

  • Image: Rose Bunny Rabbit from Jellypark
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP: First Edition 6x6 ‘Spring Drop’ Paper pad
  • Card: DCWV Textured Card, Papermania Kraft card and Crafters Companion Classic Crest Solar White Car
  • Stamps: Alpha stamps and ‘Happy Easter’ Sentiment
  • Dies & Punches: EK Success Border Punch
  • Embellishments: Paper Flowers, Ribbon, Eyelets, Viva Decor Cream Pearl Pen and Stickles Glitter Glue

A New Digi at Jellypark

Over at Jellypark, Claire released a new digi on Friday. It’s the cutest little girl all dressed up in a Nurse Outfit and can be found in the shop here.

IMG_5983

I’m a little late sharing my card with you as we’ve had problems with our internet connection. And it’s scary how lost I feel when I can’t get on the internet.

I’ve coloured the image with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and used papers from my stash (the patterned paper was a magazine freebie).I’ve also used a Tonic Studios Border punch, a CC Designs 5 Petal Flower Cutter and some gems and pearls.

Guest Designer at Jellypark

I have a memory like a sieve sometimes, so I think I forgot to tell you all that I was going to be a guest designer for Jellypark for the month of May. I love Claire’s images, they are so adorable and are a dream to colour, so you can imagine how excited I was when I found out the news.

My card is using a new digi just released today called Mermaid

IMG_5909

The image is so fabulous I kept the rest of the card very clean and simple. I coloured the image with a mix of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers, just adding some patterned papers from the First Edition Isabelle 6x6 pad, a couple of die cuts, some ribbon and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Don’t forget to pop across to Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge  to see what the rest of the DT have made using this new digi.

While you’re there it’s also time for a new challenge where the theme is:

GIRLY GIRL

I used this theme when making the above card, which just shows you don’t have to use a lot of embellishments to make a girly card, just some pretty papers and an absolutely fabulous image.

It was Hubby’s Birthday yesterday so we are off for a family day out. I’m not sure what we are going to do yet, although it isn’t raining as I type, it looks as though it’s going to start any minute.

Enjoy you day and thanks for stopping by.

Time for Tea at PCJ

Afternoon all, I’m running a little behind today. Little One and I spent a lovely lazy day yesterday, with my sister and niece, in the garden at my parents house. Little One did so much playing with sand, watering Nanny's plants and general running around that he tired himself out. He was so tired he fell asleep in the car on the way home and didn’t wake up until 9am! I don’t bother setting an alarm as usually he wakes me about 7am, so this morning I stayed asleep until 9am as well, so I must have needed a lie in.

Enough waffle, it’s time for a new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey and this week it’s time for a PHOTO INSPIRATION challenge:

However the picture inspires you just go with the flow. It could be the colours, the cakes, the shop, the shapes.

IMG_5826

As you can see I’ve used the colours from the photo as inspiration for my matting and layering. The patterned paper is part of Sarah Hurley’s fab Easter Digi Kit and I resized the paper so the little teacups were in proportion with the card, but they don’t show too well on the picture.

We were very lucky this challenge and were given some Jelly Park images to use. I’ve used a combination of Bunting, Wedding Cake and Cake Shop. I’ve paper pieced the bunting and cake and coloured the cake shop with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers.

Don’t forget to stop by Paper Crafting Journey and see what the rest of the DT have created.

For now thanks for popping by and I’ll see you later for the new challenge over at Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog, where I’ve used yet more goodies from Sarah’s Easter Digi Kit.
