Birthday Girl

Birthday Girl (2)

Morning All. Whoop whoop, it’s half term here and my eldest has gone to stay with my sister and the littlest is staying with my Mum and Dad….peace and quiet, but I do have some decorating to keep me busy. I armed with a wall paper steamer and I’m not afraid to use it lol!

I like to have a stash of some CAS cards, as they are nice and light and ready to pop in the post. Here is a card I made using Birthday Girl from Whiff of Joy:

Birthday Girl (3)

I’ve used a digi sentiment that I found here on Birds Cards (sorry I lost the direct link) and merged the images in word so it looks like the candle smoke is making the words.

Best get on with the DIY, that wallpaper isn’t going to strip itself!

Supplies:

  • Image: Birthday Girl from Whiff of Joy
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • Card: Red and Black Card, Copic X-Press It Blending Card
  • Dies & Punches: MS Border Punch
  • Embellishments: Stickles Glitter Glue

Tag You’re It

Morning everyone! I’m in quarantine at the moment as my eldest (4 years old) has the dreaded chicken pox….I’m just hopping my littlest gets it to so that it’s all out of the way.

Anyhoo, it’s my turn to share over on the he Whiff of Joy Blog today for ‘the Tag You’re It Tuesday’ feature. Here is my creation using the Henry ‘Eat Cake’ Digi image:

Eat Cake (1)_thumb[1]

I have been inspired by a card from the lovely Kuni’s blog. To see her card and for links to her blog please see the Whiff of Joy Blog.

Here is a close-up of cute little Henry

Eat Cake (4)_thumb

  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: Lili of the Valley Snow Princess Paper Pad
  • Card: Yellow and Kraft Card
  • Stamps: Sentiment Stamps from Chocolate Baroque

Eat Cake

Eat Cake (3)

Morning All. The Birthday Party is done and dusted (and cleaned up after) so I thought I would share one of the 7 cards I had to make for my week of family birthdays. This card used the fabulous Eat Cake image from Whiff of Joy:

Eat Cake (2)

I’ve gone CAS on this one as I was running  out of time with party prep and didn’t want to have to spend time choosing papers and embellies (I’m a ditherer!!). With not a lot of time left before giving it to the recipient I only went and put Glossy Accents on the balloons…OMG what was I thinking. I had to put it above the radiator to help speed up the drying, and just prayed that it didn’t warp. Luckily it was all ok in the end :-)

Supplies:

  • Image: Eat Cake from Whiff of Joy
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • Card: Copic X-Press It Blending Card, Blue Card and Black Card
  • Sentiment: Freebie from Handmade by Paula (can be found here)
  • Embellishments: Glossy Accents

My decorations have been up since the first, my cards are on their way and most of my shopping is done and wrapped, just waiting for a few more parcels to arrive in the post. I have even been helping Hubby buy my presents *Wink Wink* I found him links to some much needed Copics and Dies ;-)

Snowmen

KKD Snow Topper (1)

Afternoon all. I’m getting back to my crafting slowly and here is my card for the new Whimsy Challenge where the theme is use two images. I have used two images from the Snow Topper set by StampArt by Kathryne (the images can be purchased separately as well).

When I made this card I was inspired by the current challenge at Less is More which is Non-Traditional Christmas Colours. I decided on the turquoise base but when I was colouring I got a bit carried away and used red on the boots….well turquoise and red is one of my favourite winter colour schemes. So I apologise if this doesn’t fit the theme this week.

Supplies:

  • Image: Snow Topper from Whimsy Stamps
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers and Copics
  • Card: Copic Xpress It Blending Card and red and turquoise card
  • Sentiment: Whiff of Joy Winter Secret Stamp Kit

Tag You’re IT

Morning All. More decorating for me today but before I get started with that I thought I would show this little tag card I made for a feature on the Whiff of Joy blog called ‘Tag You’re It Tuesday’.

I’ve been playing with my Inktense pencils again. I love them more and more each time I use them. I can colour an image so much quicker than I can with markers simply because the water controls the blending and instead of using at least 3 markers to create a blend/contrast within each colour this can be done with just 1 pencil and a waterbrush!

For more info on the rest of the tag please visit my post on the Whiff of Joy blog.

Supplies:

  • Colouring Medium: Derwent Inktense Pencils
  • DP: Basic Grey and MME
  • Card: Anna Marie Designs Kraft Card and Bockingford Watercolour card
  • Stamps: Whiff of Joy Summer Stamp Kit
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Plain and Picot Edge Circles and an X-Cut Corner rounder
  • Embellishments: Pearls and Twine

Sail Away

Happy Thursday everyone. Hope you are all enjoying nice weather where you are…it’s been really nice here, sunny but not to warm and the children love being out in the garden, especially watching our strawberries grow and ripen.

Enough waffle. It’s my turn to post over at the Whiff of Joy Blog and today’s theme is:

I was inspired by the nautical theme of the Summer Stamp Kit to create a card that looked like a Porthole…I think it worked as Hubby recognised what it was!! Here is my card but for more details and peak at a little extra I made with the scraps please head over to the Whiff of Joy blog

I was proud of myself on this one as I cracked open the Watercolour paints. I haven’t used them for years and apart from using some watercolour pencils a while back I haven’t painted a whole image before…not bad for a first attempt.
