Flamingo Thank You

Morning all. Sorry I have not been the greatest blogger over the last couple of months. My health hasn’t been to great and after trudging on with day to day life blogging has been one of the things to take a back seat and to be honest apart from some colouring in I haven’t really felt like doing a whole lot of crafting either. Plus I have been feeling so cold lately that a little colouring in is the easiest thing to do when sat huddled on the sofa under jumpers and blankets (and a hot water bottle too)…think I need a holiday in the sun.

Anyhoo, enough waffle, it’s my turn over on the Sarah Hurley 365 blog today and I’m sharing a thank you card.

Here is a sneak peak

Little Loving Ladybirds

Afternoon All. Was going to post this a few hours ago but after the School run I was just so worn out, at least it’s the last one until after half term (hurrah!). I just wanted to share a quick card with you. It’s the first time I’ve been in the craft room for a while, apart from a bit of lazy sat on the sofa colouring I just haven’t felt up to it. So nothing complicated, just a little card inspired by the challenge at Less is More and this cute little ladybird from a Sarah Hurley Stamp set.

There is only one ladybird so I reverse stamped it using a brayer first (the right one) and then lined up the second actual stamp next. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set . And the background is the Crackle Background stamp also from Sarah Hurley.

Supplies:

  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • Card: Neenah Solar White
  • Stamps: Crackle Background Stamp and ‘Picnic in the Park’ Stamp set by Sarah Hurley from Crafty Impressions
  • Ink: Memento ‘Tuxedo Black’ and ‘Ladybug’ Inkpads
  • Embellishments: Wooden Heart

Morning all. I don’t know about you (or if it’s just my funny old brain) but having wrote that title I can’t stop singing the song from The Sound of Music!

Anyhoo, it’s my turn over on the Sarah Hurley 365 blog today and I’m showing the clipboard I decorated for this months challenge, it uses one of my favourite colour combos…yellow and grey.

Here is a sneak peak

Celebrate

It’s time for July’s challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 and this month it’s the theme Celebrate. Please hop over to the Sarah Hurley 365 blog to find out why Clare chose this theme.

Here is my ‘piece’ (for once it isn’t a card)! using a fabulous stamp set designed by our very own Jaine Drake. The stamps are called Tweet Tweet and can be found here in Sarah’s Shop.

As I said before it’s not a card and I’m not quite sure what it is but I was playing with the stamps and had my watercolour paints out and this just kinda happened. I’m not into journaling or anything like that but I think I made pop this into a little folder and maybe add to now and then when the mood strikes.

The sentiments in the set and the images of little birds and hearts made me think very strongly of family. I’ve had some friends and acquaintances who have recently lost parents and loved ones and I think that led me to the words I have used (partly written in my own dodgy handwriting!).

Supplies:

  • Tweet Tweet stamp set by Jaine Drake
  • Paints: Water colour pans
  • Inks: Archival ‘Jet Black’
  • Embellishments: Dymo Label Maker, Silver Gel Pen, Calligraphy Pen and clock embellishment from one of Sarah’s A Few of My Favourite Things kits

Lemon Butterflies

Morning All. It’s my turn on the Sarah Hurley 365 blog and I have been having a play with April’s A Few of My Favourite Things Kit.

I was almost dreading cutting into the papers as they are so pretty, but lemon, grey and black are one of my, many, favourite colour combinations so that made it a little bit easier.  Here is my card…

Anything Goes at Sarah Hurley 365

As you read this I should be enjoying a nice little holiday in the Isle of Wight with the Hubby and children :-) and I’m hoping we are enjoying a little bit of Sunshine instead of all this rain we’ve been having.

Anyhoo it’s time for May’s challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 and this month it’s the nice easy theme of Anything Goes.

I thought the Feather stamp from one of Sarah’s A Few of My favourite things kits was perfect for a thinking of you/sympathy card. I have teamed it with some soft coloured papers and some simple embellishments.

Supplies:

  • A Few of My Favourite Things Kit from Sarah Hurley
  • Stamps: Sentiments Stamps
  • Inks: Brilliance ‘Coffee Bean’ and Walnut Stain Distress Ink
  • Extras: White Acrylic Paint
  • Embellishments: Doodling and UTEE Embellishments

Clean & Simple Chevrons

Hi I've been playing with the 12x12 papers from January's A Few of My Favourite Things Kit.  Here is my card using Sentiments Stamps and the Black and White Chevron Paper:

Mr Mojo seems to be taking a little vacation at the moment (methinks he maybe visiting sunnier places…lucky so and so) so I had a look at a few of my favourite challenge blogs for a good old crafty kick up the bum ;-) Boy it’s been a while since I entered a challenge, I just don’t seem to get the time, but this card was inspired by the current challenge at Less is More calling for masculine cards so before I forget I’m going to enter.

Thanks for stopping by.

Sarah Hurley 365

Happy Sunday Morning All. It’s been a little quiet here on my blog but unfortunately my little ones have both been poorly (again). So amongst other things I have been on additional cuddle duty and apart from a quick play after their bedtimes I haven’t had a lot of time for blogging.

Anyhoo I have had chance to play with some goodies from Sarah’s shop. I used pennies I was given for Christmas to treat myself to some lovely stamps and masks. The results of my play can be found over on the Sarah Hurley 365 blog.

Here’s a sneaky little peak…

Surprise (3)

While you are there don’t forget to take a look at the current challenge which is ‘Giving Thanks’ as there is still time to get your entries in.

Thanks Sew Much

DSC04214

It’s a New Year and a new look over at Hurley HQ…

Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog becomes... Sarah Hurley 365!

Please click on the link above to read all about the changes, but it’s definitely a blog to bookmark because we will be offering loads more inspiration on top of the challenges. And speaking of the challenges it’s time for the first of the year. As most of our thoughts tend to be around giving thanks for all the gifts and festivities of the Christmas period we have a theme of…

Thank You

I didn’t really feel like making a card as I always feel a little glum  this time of year. The house feels so empty with all the Christmas Decorations packed away (despite the mountains of toys the children were given). It’s also tinged with sadness and memories of my Nan and Gran who both passed away at this time of year. So instead I just spread some stash across my desk and had a little play, no plan of what I was making and this is what I created…

DSC04213

I have made a wall hanging using papers from both A Few of My Favourite Things Volume One 8x8 Paper Collection and All Sewn Up A5 Paper Pack, a heart stamp from the Hand drawn Roses Stamp Set and a few more bits from my stash.

DSC04211

I stamped with a heart stamp and bubble wrap using Shimmering Acrylic Glazes (keep your eyes peeled for the March issue of Papercraft Essentials as there will be an article in there on these paints). My metallic Thickers from American Crafts look a bit too shiny so I sanded them back a bit and daubed them with Picket Fence Distress Stain.

DSC04212

And to finish some doodling, a few pearls, lines and splatters of the shimmery paint, some raffia, button and twine.

A little bit different from usual style so I would love to know what you think.

Bonfire Brights

Me again. This time with my latest creation for the Sarah Hurley Challenge. You still have a few days left to enter the current challenge which is…

Bonfire Brights

I have made a card using some of Sarah’s bright digial papers and also used a theme of little stars as they remind me of fireworks…

Bonfire Brights (4)

I have used star paper from the Back to School kit and wood grain paper from the Say Cheese kit. The sentiment is part of Sarah's Hand drawn Roses stamp set.

 Bonfire Brights (1)

And just a touch of faux stitching/doodling with a couple of fine line pens.

31 Spook Street

31 Spook Street (7)

Well that didn’t quite go to plan…I was supposed to be back to share this Wednesday afternoon. After scheduling by I Love ProMarkers GDT post Tuesday evening before I went to bed I awoke Wednesday morning with the worst Migraine I have had in a while. Luckily I was staying with my parents as they looked after the children so I could sleep through it. So now a few days later and I’m back to playing catch up again….maybe this time I can go more than a week without being ill.

Enough waffle we have a new monthly challenge over at Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog and this months theme, chosen by the lovely Carol, is…

Halloween

Now I’m not usually one for Halloween, but I really enjoyed making this. It’s a little hanging plaque and I thought I would hang it in the window on All Hallows Eve…

31 Spook Street (2)

The images and papers are from Sarah’s latest kit ‘31 Spook Street’.

31 Spook Street (8)

I merged the ‘Angelica’ and ‘Muffin’ images before printing. I then coloured them in with my ProMarkers.

31 Spook Street (6)

…my little spiders made with an ‘L’ alphabet punch, a circle punch and some glitter FlowerSoft.

Supplies:

  • Image:  ‘Angelica’ and ‘Muffin’ from the ‘31 Spook Street’ Digi Kit
