Giggle Fairy

Morning All. Hope you all had a good weekend! After a tiring day at the craft show and with the miserable rain outside I spent a wonderful afternoon getting crafty and playing with some of my new stash. I didn’t actually finish a card, just made a good old mess so in true Blue Peter style here is one I made earlier…

This card was my valentines card for hubby and uses the cute Giggle Fairy from Some Odd Girl. He’s not really into pink but he doesn’t mind because he knows I am ;-) I’ve also made my favourite rolled flowers from a circle punch.
Supplies:
  • Image: Giggle Fairy from Some Odd Girl
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP: Crate Paper ‘Random’ 6x6 Paper Pad
  • Card: Pink card from stash and Joanna Sheen Elegance Ice White 300gsm
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Speech Bubbles from Whiff of Joy, flourish die and circle punch
  • Embellishments: Glitter, Hessian, Washi Tape from Ikea, old beads from a broken necklace, gems and doodling with a Pigma Micron Pen

My Favourite Five Cards of 2012

Debby is hosting another Favourite Five and this time it’s Favourite Five Cards of 2012.
Here are mine:

#1 – I love Saturated Canary images and this is my favourite Saturated Canary card this year. I love the Colour scheme and the CAS design. Original post is here…

#2 – Masculine cards are always quite hard, but I was pleased with how this one turned out. It uses a Digi from Crissy’s Digi’s called Whatzup Dog, and the colours, layout and embellishments just seemed to come together. Original post is here…

#3 – This is  bit of a cheat, it’s two cards! I adore this image from Pink Gem Designs called Moon baby and this year I’ve used it to make both a Girl and Boy New Baby card and I couldn’t decide between them. Original posts are here and here…

#4 – This was a card from quite early in 2012 but I like it because it doesn’t use a really cute image and it also uses a negative die cut as a frame. The stamps are from a Little Claire set and the original post can be found here…

#5 – Again another slight cheat as this is two cards, but something I struggle to do is embellish my cards. Sometimes I add embellishments and to me they look as though they have been plonked on top and don’t form part of the design, but with with these two cards I think I got it just about right (well for me anyway!). The original posts can be found here and here…

I had a really hard choosing these as I think my crafting and style has really grown in 2012, I could have chosen about another 10 cards!

I hope you enjoy my selection and thanks for stopping by

Add Some Bling at PCJ

Wryn Birthday Card (3)

Morning all. As you read this I should be having a nice little lie in on my holiday (hopefully Nanny and Granddad will have got up early with Little One). So I have scheduled this little post to share my card for the new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey which this fortnight is:

ADD SOME BLING

Wryn Birthday Card (3)

I have used a gorgeous image from Tiddly Inks called Wryn Grow a Little Love. She has been coloured with ProMarkers. I used some fabulous papers from Crate Paper Random 6x6 Pad, my favourite papers at the moment I think! I’ve also used some flowers and bling from Wild Orchid Crafts, some ribbon and pom pom trim from my stash, a gorgeous butterfly die from CC Designs, a Sizzix/Tim Holtz Wonky Scallop border die and a sentiment from a Personal Impressions Paula Pascual set.

Please hop over to Paper Crafting Journey and see the rest of the DT’s inspiration.

Happy Birthday Sister-in-Law

Good morning, hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. It's pouring down with rain here in Portsmouth and I can't craft as we're staying with the In-Laws. So just a quick post from me then we're headed out into the weather so I can try and locate a warm maternity sweatshirt/coat to cover my baby bump. I can't just buy a normal one in a bigger size as where I was so sick at the beginning I'm smaller now than I was before I got pregnant and my bump is so big already (I'm 5 months) that to get one to fit it would hang off my shoulders and over my hands as I'm quite short too.

Anyhoo, enough waffle, here is my card which follows this weeks challenge at Sketch & Stash (see below for sketch):

Patchwork Bunch of Balloons Card (2)  Patchwork Bunch of Balloons Card (4)    Patchwork Bunch of Balloons Card (1)

The image is Patchwork Bunch of Balloons from Lili of the Valley and has been coloured with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. Patterned papers are from the Crate Paper Random 6x6 pad and the plain card is from my stash, all edges have been distressed with a mix of Worn Lipstick and Spun Sugar Distress Ink. The image has been cut out with a Nestie and mounted on a square parenthesis X-Cut die cut. The flowers have been cut with an MFT flower die available from Dies to Die for. The ribbon and pearls are from my stash.

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
