Pretty Peacock

20180920_121359

Afternoon all. Did you all see the Metallic Markers on Hochanda yesterday afternoon? They had the original 12 colours but also a set of 12 new colours and they are lovely.

This is tag I made and it also uses the stamps that were available on the show and also on the Crafter’s Companion website:

20180920_121201

For the back ground I coloured the tips of an old paint brush and brushed in over the card. For the peacock I coloured my stamp with the markers and then quickly stamped. Once this was dry I added some more shimmer by scribbling the markers on my glass mat and picking up with a water brush and painting onto the image.

The little feather in the background was stamped with VersaFine onto Hessian and then coloured with the markers

12 Tags of 2012 March

Last post tonight…I promise.

I’ve always wanted to join in on Tim’s 12 Tags of Christmas but it’s always such a busy time of year, even more so now I have a Little One. So I was really pleased when I saw that the tags are going monthly.

Here is my take on March's Tag:

IMG_5819

There is quite of bit of improvisation (AKA Make Do and Mend) on my tag as I don’t have many of the products Tim used (I think Glossy Accents maybe the only one…lol….no hang on there’s Walnut Stain DI on there too!!).

It’s a little different from my usual makes but I like it and for now it’s going to hang on my notice board but when I have made a few more I might try making it into a little tag book.

Thanks for stopping by.

Craft Barn Alcohol Ink Challenge

I love looking at the Craft Barn Wishing Well posts, but don’t always any of the products to be able to enter the challenge. Well this week it was Alcohol Inks and I have some of those so I’ve had a play…

I was inspired by Andy Skinners technique as I’d never thought of using them in water and onto porous objects. So I gave it a try with a plain white tag, some flowers punched out of copy paper, some white card, some white textured paper and I even tried it on some ribbon and this is what I came up with:

Alcohol Ink Tag (2)Alcohol Ink Flower Card (1)

I wanted to stamp some lines but of all the background stamps I have I don’t have lines so I inked a strip of the corrugated card and used it as a stamp. A few extra bits were added, some liquid pearls, some twine, a button, some inking around the edges and some embossing powder and after a nice messy inky play I’m quite pleased with the results.

I’d also like to enter my card in the Simon Says Stamp Challenge of Anything goes.
Items: Alcohol Inks Cranberry, Espresso and Butterscotch, All other items from my stash: button, twine, flower punches, white card, brown corrugated card, ribbon, Perfect Medium inkpad, gold detail embossing powder, Whispers brush marker, sentiment from Little Claire and Ranger Liquid Pearls.
