Saint Nicholas

Whiff of Joy Saint Nicholas (2)

Good Morning. Hope you are all well and almost ready for Christmas…..I’m getting there. My decorations have been up since the first, my cards are on their way and most of my shopping is done and wrapped, just waiting for a few more parcels to arrive in the post. I have even been helping Hubby buy my presents *Wink Wink* I found him links to some much needed Copics and Dies ;-)

Anyhoo, enough waffle, over at the Whiff of Joy Blog we are showing Christmas inspiration and today is my turn. I’ve decided to make a traditional coloured Christmas card using the fabulous Saint Nicholas stamp from the Winter Secret Stamp Kit.

Whiff of Joy Saint Nicholas (1)

This card is going to be hand delivered so I have layered things up a bit, especially with my pretty felt snowflake ;-) The sentiment can also be found as part of the Winter Secret Stamp Kit.

Supplies:

  • Image: Saint Nicholas from the Winter Secret Stamp Kit from Whiff of Joy
  • Colouring Medium: Copics and ProMarkers

Chloe with Poinsettia

Afternoon all…..long time no see! I think I’m just about ready to get crafting again but what with the lead up to Christmas it might be the new year before I get back into full swing.

Anyhoo, I’m here to share my card for the new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge. We are having a special 4 week challenge so that we can all have a little break over the festive period. If you fancy joining us the theme is:

Anything Christmas

Here is my card using the gorgeous Poppy with Poinsettias:

Flamingo Thank You

Morning all. Sorry I have not been the greatest blogger over the last couple of months. My health hasn’t been to great and after trudging on with day to day life blogging has been one of the things to take a back seat and to be honest apart from some colouring in I haven’t really felt like doing a whole lot of crafting either. Plus I have been feeling so cold lately that a little colouring in is the easiest thing to do when sat huddled on the sofa under jumpers and blankets (and a hot water bottle too)…think I need a holiday in the sun.

Anyhoo, enough waffle, it’s my turn over on the Sarah Hurley 365 blog today and I’m sharing a thank you card.

Here is a sneak peak

Penguin Joy

Penguin Joy (4)

Afternoon all. I’ve been on a Christmas Card making run and I remembered I hadn’t inked up one of my favourite Christmas Stamps, Penguin Joy by Crissy Armstrong for Whimsy Stamps. Usually I am fond of non-traditional Christmas colours but this year I can’t seem to get enough red and green plus it goes very nicely with my current addiction to Kraft card.

 Penguin Joy (2)

Quite a lot of my Christmas cards for mailing are very CAS with no embellishments as they need to be easy to post. This one however is going to be hand delivered so I could go overboard with the embellishments. I’ve used some spider webbing, a charm, several die cuts, some roses and a poinsettia.

I do love Whimsy Stamps and Dies, the quality is fabulous so while I’m posting I thought I would throw my hat into the ring for the DT call they are currently holding, if you want to have a try hurry and look at the details here as the call ends at Midnight ET tonight (that’s 5am for any of us night owl UK ladies!!).

Supplies:

  • Image: Penguin Joy Rubber Stamp by Whimsy Stamps
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers and Copics
  • DP: Little Darlings Christmas Papers (free with Papercraft Essentials 98)
  • Card: Copic Xpress It Blending Card and Kraft Card
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Radiant Rectangle Dies, Lace Border Doily 1 die and Holly and Berries die
  • Embellishments: Spider Web, Card Candi, BEll Charm, Paper Roses, Paper Poinsettia and Glitter Glue

Reindeer Jodie

Afternoon All. The lovely Janet from Pink Gem Designs is sponsering the new challenge at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge and a few of us Pink Gem Girlies have made some lovely cards as Guest Designers. The theme for the challenge is ‘Winter’ and for me that meant another Christmas Card. This one is for my little girl and uses Reindeer Jodie

I am still addicted to Kraft and I’m loving using it with some traditional green and red. The papers are some new ones I picked up a couple of weeks ago and are Craft Christmas from Papermania.

Supplies:

  • Image: Reindeer Jodie from Pink Gem Designs
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP: Craft Christmas from Papermania
  • Card & Paper: Paperchase Ribbed Kraft Paper and green card
  • Stamps: Relative Stamp Set (Make unknown but maybe Personal Impressions)
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinder labels 31 and Whimsy Lacy Border die and Holly Leaf die
  • Embellishments: Flat backed pearls, ribbon, wooden star, small white luggage tag and glitter glue.

Snowmen

KKD Snow Topper (1)

Afternoon all. I’m getting back to my crafting slowly and here is my card for the new Whimsy Challenge where the theme is use two images. I have used two images from the Snow Topper set by StampArt by Kathryne (the images can be purchased separately as well).

When I made this card I was inspired by the current challenge at Less is More which is Non-Traditional Christmas Colours. I decided on the turquoise base but when I was colouring I got a bit carried away and used red on the boots….well turquoise and red is one of my favourite winter colour schemes. So I apologise if this doesn’t fit the theme this week.

Supplies:

  • Image: Snow Topper from Whimsy Stamps
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers and Copics
  • Card: Copic Xpress It Blending Card and red and turquoise card
  • Sentiment: Whiff of Joy Winter Secret Stamp Kit

Halloween

Morning All. What with my lack of crafting and blogging and Mr Blogger not publishing the post I did do, I’m not doing very well at the moment! But better late than never I’m here with my Halloween make for the current challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge where the theme is ‘Trick or Treat’

I like to decorate the window of the house on Halloween so that other Trick or Treaters know we are are friendly and don’t mind having them knock on our door. So I made this little plaque to hang in the window using the gorgeous Broomstick Chloe and lot’s of traditional Halloween colours.

Supplies:

  • Image: Broomstick Chloe from Pink Gem Designs
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers and Copics
  • DP: DCWV Latte Paperstack
  • Card: Copic X-Press it Blending Card and Black card from stash
  • Stamps: Sentiments from the Whiff of Joy Fall Stamp Kit
  • Dies & Punches: Fiskars Border Punch and Spellbinder Plain Circle Dies
  • Embellishments: Flat back Pearls, Paper Flowers, Button, Ribbon, Twine and doodles with a black fineliner.

Little Loving Ladybirds

Afternoon All. Was going to post this a few hours ago but after the School run I was just so worn out, at least it’s the last one until after half term (hurrah!). I just wanted to share a quick card with you. It’s the first time I’ve been in the craft room for a while, apart from a bit of lazy sat on the sofa colouring I just haven’t felt up to it. So nothing complicated, just a little card inspired by the challenge at Less is More and this cute little ladybird from a Sarah Hurley Stamp set.

There is only one ladybird so I reverse stamped it using a brayer first (the right one) and then lined up the second actual stamp next. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set . And the background is the Crackle Background stamp also from Sarah Hurley.

Supplies:

  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • Card: Neenah Solar White
  • Stamps: Crackle Background Stamp and ‘Picnic in the Park’ Stamp set by Sarah Hurley from Crafty Impressions
  • Ink: Memento ‘Tuxedo Black’ and ‘Ladybug’ Inkpads
  • Embellishments: Wooden Heart

Rosalie with Roses

Hope everyone is well. We have had a nasty bug doing the rounds here. The children have both had nasty coughs and now they have kindly passed it onto me…..well they do say a problem shared…lol!

I thought I would try out for the CC Designs DT Call. I’m cutting it a bit fine but what with all the coughing it has taken me so much longer than normal to make a card. Plus a marker pen is quite a dangerous weapon in the middle of a coughing fit!

Here is my card using an old CC Designs Digi Stamp called Rosalie with Roses:

I love to have super cute birthday cards in my stash ready for friends birthdays, so that’s what I have made. I’ve used some Papermania papers that I have had in my stash for quite a while, and I thought the blue would look lovely matted on some deep red card.

Chloe with Reindeer

Quick Edit: Mr Blogger has been naughty and didn’t post this Morning when he should have!

Morning All. I’ve been a little unwell again recently so haven’t really been into the craft room. I have mainly been resting up and catching up on some TV programmes…I’m enjoying ‘Cilla’ at the moment but I’ve quite a few other series on the Tivo box ready to watch!

Here is a recent Christmas make using Chloe with Reindeer:

Another quick simple card for my Christmas stash.

Christmas Eve Chloe

Morning All. Hope everyone is well?

I’m sharing a card over on the Gems of Inspiration blog today and my card making is  definitely in full swing Christmas mode. This is a very flat (ideal for posting) Christmas card using Christmas Eve Chloe:

This card uses one of my favourite colour combinations of red and turquoise.

Not sure about you but I have a kind of tier system when it comes to my Christmas card making. Heavily embellished and cards I put a lot of time and love into go to close family and loved ones (that I can hand deliver to), simple coloured cards (like the above) go to special friends and relatives that I mail to and lastly for everyone else I make some simple, quick stamped cards.

Alicia

A late post from me tonight. The children didn’t settle that early so I’ve sacrificed a little sleep for some crafting me time :-)

I have loved Sugar Nellie stamps for a long time, in fact I think they were the first ‘Cute’ stamps I bought. Before that it was all florals, patterns and sentiments. So I was excited to see that The Sugar Bowl challenge is coming back and more so because they are having a DT call.

I dithered for a bit about which image to use, so I coloured several up but it was the lovely cute Alicia that finally made it onto a card.

With such an adorable image I wanted to go for a fairly CAS look. I’ve used a paper with a lovely small pattern and cut, embossed and glittered a frame from pale pink card. The sentiments are clear stamps so I curved them on the acrylic block to follow the shape of the frame.

Supplies:

  • Image: Alicia from Sugar Nellie/Funky Kits
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP: First Edition New Bloom 6x6 Paper Pad
  • Card: Copic X-Press It and Core’dinations Textured Card
  • Stamps: Paula Pascual Double Sayings Clear Stamp Set from Personal Impressions
  • Ink: Archival Jet Black Inkpad
  • Dies & Punches: Go Kreate Large Circle Dies and Spellbinders Plain Circle Nestabilities
  • Misc: Sizzix Curlicue & Hearts Embossing Folder Set, Faux stitching with a white gel pen and pink self adhesive pearls

Scarecrow and Friends

CD Scarecrow and Friend (1)

Just a quick post from me to share the second to last of Augusts makes. Here is a tag shaped card made using Scarecrow and Friend from Crissy’s Digis:

CD Scarecrow and Friend (2)

I made a mistake I don’t often do any more when making cards and I coloured my image before picking any patterned papers. I really struggled finding anything to match so I went for plain coloured card and added some pattern of my own with embossing and stencilling.

The flowers are punched from a cork sheet and coloured with a ProMarker.

Supplies:

  • Image: Scarecrow and Friend from Whimsy Stamps
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • Card: Copic X-Press It, DCWV Cork Sheet and Orange and Green Core’dinations card
  • Dies & Punches: Hole Punch, Corner rounder and Flower Punch

Poppy

Morning All. I don’t seem to have quite got back into the swing of blogging since coming back from holiday, not helped by another tummy bug.

Anyhoo, it’s time for a new challenge over at A Gem of a Challenge and this time our theme picked by the lovely Claire is:

It’s Summer Time

Here is my card using Poppy

I’ve used the no lines colouring technique but printed the digi in beige rather than grey (thanks to Alyce at Kit and Clowder for that tip) and it was much easier to colour. Old Mr Mojo has taken a bit of a walk at the moment (if you see him please send him back…lol) so I have kept the rest of the card simple with an embossed background, sentiment and a ribbon.

Supplies:

  • Image: Poppy by Pink Gem Designs
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers and Copics
  • Card: Copic X-Press It Card, Coral and Purple Core’dinations Card and textured white card
  • Stamps: Sentiment from Pink Gem Designs
  • Dies & Punches: Floral Oval Nestabilities and X-Cut Square Punch
  • Embellishments: Glitter Glue

Anyhoo, it’s my turn over on the Sarah Hurley 365 blog today and I’m showing the clipboard I decorated for this months challenge, it uses one of my favourite colour combos…yellow and grey.

Here is a sneak peak
