Tag You’re It

Morning everyone! I’m in quarantine at the moment as my eldest (4 years old) has the dreaded chicken pox….I’m just hopping my littlest gets it to so that it’s all out of the way.

Anyhoo, it’s my turn to share over on the he Whiff of Joy Blog today for ‘the Tag You’re It Tuesday’ feature. Here is my creation using the Henry ‘Eat Cake’ Digi image:

Eat Cake (1)_thumb[1]

I have been inspired by a card from the lovely Kuni’s blog. To see her card and for links to her blog please see the Whiff of Joy Blog.

Here is a close-up of cute little Henry

Eat Cake (4)_thumb

Also my apologies for the picture quality, my littlest has managed to break the camera card slot on my computer so I had to use my phone as a back up camera and although the camera is as good I think I wobble it when I hold it!

  • Image: Eat Cake from Whiff of Joy
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: Lili of the Valley Snow Princess Paper Pad
  • Card: Yellow and Kraft Card
  • Stamps: Sentiment Stamps from Chocolate Baroque

Eat Cake

Eat Cake (3)

Morning All. The Birthday Party is done and dusted (and cleaned up after) so I thought I would share one of the 7 cards I had to make for my week of family birthdays. This card used the fabulous Eat Cake image from Whiff of Joy:

Eat Cake (2)

I’ve gone CAS on this one as I was running  out of time with party prep and didn’t want to have to spend time choosing papers and embellies (I’m a ditherer!!). With not a lot of time left before giving it to the recipient I only went and put Glossy Accents on the balloons…OMG what was I thinking. I had to put it above the radiator to help speed up the drying, and just prayed that it didn’t warp. Luckily it was all ok in the end :-)

Supplies:

  • Image: Eat Cake from Whiff of Joy
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • Card: Copic X-Press It Blending Card, Blue Card and Black Card
  • Sentiment: Freebie from Handmade by Paula (can be found here)
  • Embellishments: Glossy Accents

Lovely Irene

Evening all. I’m here to share a card I created for the Art by Miran DT Call. I was hoping to get it posted while the kids were having their tea but I started sorting out some of their toys and it snowballed into a massive tidy up. Oh well at least the house is looking ship shape for Saturdays Birthday Party, just got to get cracking on the Pass the Parcel wrapping tomorrow!

I have loads of Art by Miran images coloured up, due to using them as practice for the Skin & Hair classes over at Kit & Clowder (they all have fabulous hair – which is what I need to practice most), but none of them have actually made it onto a card…until now. This card uses Lovely Irene:

Love Irene (1)

I have tried to keep the layout nice and simple with minimal embellishments as the image is so  beautiful. Here is a close up, although don’t look at her arms…the shading is awful. I blame my E11 Copic as it was in need of both cleaning and refilling!

Love Irene (3)

I would love to be on the Art by Miran team as I love the images, I’m a sucker for anything cute, especially in the Big Eye Anime style, and these images  fit the bill. Also I love love love to colour (am currently improving my skills in the classes over at Kit & Clowder) and these images are perfect and there are so many to choose from I could lose a whole weekend colouring!

Currently I am lucky enough to design for a UK papercraft magazine (Papercraft Essentials) and the following teams: Pink Gem Designs, Little Claire (Digi Stamp Team) and Whiff of Joy (Digi Stamp Team)

Supplies:

  • Image: Lovely Irene from Art by Miran
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: First Edition Spring Bloom 6x6 Pad
  • Card: Black card, Neenah Solar White Card and Copic X-Press It Blending Card
  • Stamps: Kraftin Kimmie ‘Make a Wish’ Stamp Set
  • Dies & Punches: Go Kreate Oval Dies and an EK Border Punch
  • Embellishments: Flat back pearls

Fairy Princess

Night All. I’m back….a little later than planned but we have had a fabulous day celebrating my Little Princess’ 2nd Birthday. Although I should call her the Queen really as she is celebrating again on Saturday and we are having a big family party. Here is the card I made her also with the Tiddly Inks DT Call in mind…

Wryn Fairy Wishes (4)

Emily is a proper girly girly. All ready she likes dressing up, and playing with toy tiaras, wands and jewellery so I just had to use the adorable Fairy Wishes Wryn. I have been practicing that hair flicking again….Miss Alyce has us in colouring boot camp over at Kit & Clowder and I think it’s starting to pay off (with lot’s of practice!!!). Here’s a close up of the image…

Wryn Fairy Wishes (2)

Quite a simple layout but I have used alphas and a hand cut/glittered number 2 to add a personal touch…I love to do that for close family. And if my Little Princess turns out like my Little Prince she will want to keep the special cards…he has all the Christmas and Birthday cards I have given him so far in a box!

Well that’s enough waffle from me! I don’t feel that tired at the moment, but come morning I will regret the lack of sleep and I need my energy to make the house presentable and getting this party finished off.

Supplies:

  • Image: Fairy Wishes Wryn by Tiddly Inks
  • Colouring Medium: All Copics - my collection is growing steadily ;-)
  • DP: Lili of the Valley Timeless Victorian Papers
  • Card: Navy Blue Linen Textured card and Copic X-Press It card
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Floral Ovals, MFT Rolled Roses, MS Border Punch, X-Cut Corner Rounder and X-Cut Square Punch
  • Embellishments: Paper Roses, Loose Glitter , Stickles, Clear Gem, Pom Pom Trim, Wooden Heart and Newsprint Alphas (coloured with Copics)

Chair Man

Morning All. It’s time for the first ever Digi Stamp Challenge over on the Little Claire Blog. Our first theme is an 'Open' one……so anything goes!  We are looking forward to seeing all of your entries, all that we ask is that you use only digi-images on your cards. It doesn’t have to be a Little Claire digi stamp but it would be fabulous if it was, and with such a versatile range of images it would be easy to find one you love (or two or three hehe). Please hop over to the Little Claire shop and take a look for yourself.

And the best bit, the lovely Gill from Little Claire has offered a wonderful prize for the winner of our first challenge…… TEN Little Claire Digi Stamp images of your choosing.

Here is my card using Chair Man, it’s a birthday card for my Father-in-Law. He is the last in a whole week of family birthdays which starts today with my little baby girl who is now 2 years old (I’ll pop back later and show you her card)! Well 7 cards to make straight into the New Year certainly keeps me busy once the Christmas Decorations come down lol.

Man in Chair

I made this card all backwards so I’m surprised it turned out so well. I coloured the image first, which I try not to do until I’ve at least picked papers better still made the card. Also the frame and patterned paper on the base were put together months ago for a magazine commission, but I changed my mind and didn’t use it….good job as the  colours fitted this perfectly! Minimal embellishment as it’s for a man, but I did manage to use a little ribbon in a masculine way….kind of!!

Please hop over to the Little Claire blog  and take a look at the cards my teamies have made to inspire you. And if you want to join in you have until 4pm (GMT) on Tuesday 10th February.

Supplies:

  • Image: Chair Man from Little Claire
  • Colouring Medium: Copics
  • DP: Papermania ‘Very Happy Birthday’ 12x12 Paper Pack
  • Card: Dark Green Bazzill Card, Copic X-Press It Blending Card and smooth white card
  • Sentiment: ‘A Tiny Little Wish to You’ stamp but available as both digi and stamp here
  • Dies & Punches: Go Kreate Ovals, Spellbinder Plain Circles and Spellbinder Radiant Rectangles
  • Embellishments: Ribbon, Card Candi and Alpha Letters covered in Stickles

Snow Hugs

Morning all and a big hello to the new followers I have gained since the new year.

Back in the autumn I was lucky enough to have an article in Papercraft Essentials Magazine showing how to make a desk calendar. I knew straight away I wanted to use all my favourite Chloe images and as there are so many to choose from I was able to match the image to the season.  I loved how it turned out so I asked for the magazine to return it to me and it now has pride of place on the cabinet in my dining room.

2015 Chloe Desk Calendar (1)_thumb

Instead of overloading you with pictures I thought it would be nice to show you a page a month. Here is January’s using Snow Hugs

2015 Chloe Desk Calendar (2)_thumb

I couldn’t bear to part with mine but this would make a perfect gift for a special friend or relative. I’ve attached the title and all the calander tabs with self adhesive hook and loop dots, so that I can replace them ready for next year.

Supplies:

  • Image: Snow Hugs by Pink Gem Designs
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers and Copics
  • DP: Magazine Freebie
  • Card: Copic X-Press It Blending Card and Anna Marie Designs Kraft Card
  • Dies & Punches: Go Kreate Frilly Frames and Spellbinders Plain/Scalloped Squares
  • Embellishments: Ribbon, Button, Metallic Thread, Wooden Snowflake, Computer Generated Calandar Tab/Month

Happy New Year and Some News

Hi All

Hope you are all well and had a fabulous Christmas. We have had a good time despite both us and the children suffering from awful viruses. I’m sort of glad to be getting back to the daily routine today and hoping these bugs hurry up and leave.

Anyhoo I’m about to do the school run, but thought I would pop on to share some absolutely fantastic fabulous super duper news…..I’m part of the new Little Claire Digi-Stamp Design Team. I applied just before Christmas and it was an extra present to find out I had been selected. Little Claire stamps are a staple in my craft room and to be able to play with their designs in digis is going to be so much fun.

My new teamies are Alison, Avril, Lynsey, Mags, Margreet, Sarah and Susan and if you hop over to the Little Claire Blog you will get to meet them.

Our first Digi-Stamp Blog Challenge will go live on Wednesday 15th January 2014 and we would love for you to come and play along with us.

To celebrate my good news I thought I would share a Little Claire card with you. It was made a little while back as with getting all the decorations down and put away, and giving everything a good clean I haven’t actually made it into my Crafty Hole yet this year….I haven’t shared the card here yet but you may have seen it in a past issue of Papercraft Essentials…

This one uses the Beach Huts Stamp Set but it’s also a digi stamp Beach Huts. It’s been stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto cork (from a DCWV stack) and coloured using ProMarkers. A very CAS card and perfect for one of the men in your life.
