Sketch Time at Critters

I’ve got lot’s of errands to run tomorrow and Wednesday and the car is going to the garage to have a wheel bearing replaced so I’m trying to squeeze all the housework in today….hmph…I’d much rather be crafting. Anyhoo, enough waffle I was going to try and keep this post to the point.

There is a new challenge over at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog and this week it’s a sketch.

I very nearly stuck to the sketch, I just used fancy dies cuts instead of circles and changed the position of the sentiment.

I’ve used an of Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl stamp and coloured her with ProMArkers and FlexMarkers onto Kraft Paper from Paperchase (the little white clouds were added with a white Polychromos pencil). The papers are all from the First Edition Spring Feast paper pad and I’ve embossed the green panel with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from a Polkadoodles magazine freebie and has been stamped with Brilliance Graphite Blank ink. And lastly, just a few few bits of Washi Tape that were free with the current issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.

Home at Sarah Hurley

Just a quick post from me (hurrah I hear you all shout!) as it’s film night tonight in our house and I want to squeeze in a little more crafting as well before the film.  A new challenge has started over at Sarah Hurley Challenge and this time the lovely Jaine picked our theme, which is:

HOME

So your card just needs to feature some sort of house (or it could even be a castle) but on my card I made a little row of houses…

Now as an idea this was pretty good but I’m just not quite happy with the finished card, but frustratingly I can’t put my finger on why.

All the papers used are from Sarah’s new Craft Basics kit (here I’ve used colours from the ‘Vivid’ set).

Vintage over at PCJ

It seems like ages since I blogged, but it’s only been a week. I’m slowly catching up with everything. Being poorly really knocked me for six, I got behind with everything, crafting, cooking, cleaning, blogging, etc. So I need to get back into my routine.

Anyhoo enough waffle it’s time for a new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey and this time are theme is:

VINTAGE

Ahhh, I don’t do Vintage! Oh well I guess it’s supposed to be a challenge, so here is my take on it…

 

To me vintage is about pretty things, all lace, pearls and gilt and very very girly. It’s how I remember my Nan’s bedroom and dressing table looking when I was a little girl. So that’s the idea I went with, but I’m not it’s vintage. Shabby chic maybe? Or just plain girly?…oh well!

We are sponsored this challenge by the Wonderful Elizabeth Bell (who kindly stepped in at the last minute) and we got to use one of her wonderful images. I chose ‘A Tasty Read’ and it was a dream to colour (with my ProMarkers and FlexMarkers), I’ve also used some fabulous papers from the Authentique Freebird Blush & Delight 6x6 pad, some lace, some Washi tape, some pearls and gems, some small lace flowers, a flourish die, a border die, a brad, a rub-on, some bubble stickers and some fabric.

And finally…

Hurrah. This is the last of my posts I needed to catch up on, so normally blogging services should resume shortly…lol.

Monday saw a new challenge start over at Critter Sketch Challenge blog and the theme this week is:

FAIRY/FAIRIES

I almost didn’t make this challenge as I was feeling quite poorly last week and didn’t even want to craft (shock horror) but the doctor gave me some Penicillin and by Sunday I was feeling a little better. So, from the comfort of the sofa and with Hubby on hand with cups of tea I managed a little crating…

I’ve used a cute little fairy image from our sponsors Inky Impressions, which I have coloured with a mix of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. I’ve teamed her with some fabulous Pink Paislee papers that came free with the current issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.

The rolled roses were cut freehand, as was the sentiment banner. Just a touch of Stickles and some liquid pearls to finish.
