Strawberry Girl

Lia Stampz Strawberry Girl (1)

Afternoon all. All this hot weather we have been having here in the UK  (and a bug) have left me feeling pretty drained and I can’t say that I’ve really wanted to be in my craft room. It hasn’t helped that I finally downloaded the Kindle App onto my tablet and I seem to have lost hours and hours reading one book after another…..beats housework anyway ;-)

The weather has cooled here slightly and I finally felt getting back to my craft room. I made this card using Strawberry Girl from Lia Stampz

Celebrate

It’s time for July’s challenge at Sarah Hurley 365 and this month it’s the theme Celebrate. Please hop over to the Sarah Hurley 365 blog to find out why Clare chose this theme.

Here is my ‘piece’ (for once it isn’t a card)! using a fabulous stamp set designed by our very own Jaine Drake. The stamps are called Tweet Tweet and can be found here in Sarah’s Shop.

As I said before it’s not a card and I’m not quite sure what it is but I was playing with the stamps and had my watercolour paints out and this just kinda happened. I’m not into journaling or anything like that but I think I made pop this into a little folder and maybe add to now and then when the mood strikes.

The sentiments in the set and the images of little birds and hearts made me think very strongly of family. I’ve had some friends and acquaintances who have recently lost parents and loved ones and I think that led me to the words I have used (partly written in my own dodgy handwriting!).

Supplies:

  • Tweet Tweet stamp set by Jaine Drake
  • Paints: Water colour pans
  • Inks: Archival ‘Jet Black’
  • Embellishments: Dymo Label Maker, Silver Gel Pen, Calligraphy Pen and clock embellishment from one of Sarah’s A Few of My Favourite Things kits

Animals (and birds too!)

By the time you read this we should be on the road…heading north to the Lake District….fingers crossed for me on the weather, the weather reports are showing lot’s of showers :-(

Anyhoo, it’s time for a new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and this time Marianne has picked a fabulous theme of:

Animals

I have made a birthday card for my Mother-in-Law using Birthday Ozzie

This one was a tough make for me. I did the whole shuffling the bit’s about the card but nothing looking quite right. So I left it over night and came back to it the following day. I am happier now with the layout, but I’m not sure it will make my Top 5 list come Christmas…lol!

Supplies:

  • Image: Birthday Ozzie from Pink Gem Designs
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP: Bazzill Basics Vintage Marketplace 6x6 pad
  • Card: Turquoise Card – Papermill Direct, Kraft Card from Anna Marie Designs and Copic X-Press It
  • Stamps: Sentiments Stamp Set from Sarah Hurley
  • Ink: Adirondack ‘Stream’ Inkpad
  • Dies & Punches: Spellbinders Picot Edge Circles and Plain Circles, Flower Punches, leaf punch and an MS Border Punch
  • Embellishments: Ribbon, alpha beads and gems.

Rocket Man

Morning All. Just a quick post from me as I’m supposed to be packing…we’re off on a holiday. Let’s keep our fingers crossed this nice weather continues as we’re going to the Lake District. I can’t wait to just chill out and spend time with family.

Anyhoo, enough of my waffle, it’s time for a new challenge at Jellypark and this time our theme is…

Red, White and Blue

I’ve used the fabulous Moon and Stars bundle set and here is my card…

I did something I’m not in the habit of doing lately….I coloured the image before picking my patterned papers! And guess what nothing went with the bright colours so I made my own background.

I started with a piece of white card, inked it all over with Adirondack Denim ink and then sprayed it with Crafters Companion Iridescent Spray & Sparkle. I added splatters of white acrylic paint as I thought these would look like planets and stars. I’ve also added a die cut number covered in white acrylic paint and the sentiment has also been stamped using the paint so everything ties together.
