Sketch at A Gem of a Challenge

 Beer Monster (10)

Morning All. Just a quick post from me as I’ve got a long ‘To Do’ list this weekend.

It’s time for our new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and this time it’s my turn to set the challenge so I picked a…

I have used one of Janet’s recent releases Beer Monster to make a Fathers Day card for Elliot and Emily to give to Hubby. I’m quite pleased with myself for making it advance as Fathers Day here in the UK isn’t until 16th June.  My card also uses various Pink Gem Digi Papers.

My image has been coloured with ProMarkers. I’ve also added some die cut stars, a star border, a button, ribbon, glitter glue and a Pink Gem sentiment.

Shades of Blue at Sarah Hurley

Baby Boy Sarah Hurley (6)

I can’t believe we are already over halfway through May…and we still haven’t had many nice sunny days. I haven’t seen any weather forecasts yet but I have my fingers crossed for some sunshine this weekend as I need to get outside and do some tidying up and weeding. What do you have planned?

While I munch my breakfast I thought I would share with you this months challenge at the Sarah Hurley Challenge blog which is all about 'Shades of Blue'. A few of the team (me included) have a love of all things blue, so we want to see your projects showing as much blue as possible. You have about 10 days left to enter as the challenge runs until midnight on the 26th May.

I have used papers from Sarah's Craft Basics Digi Kit and the 'Baby Feet' stamp set Sarah designed for Personal Impressions to make a new baby card…

Baby Boy Sarah Hurley (12)

To make the patchwork background I picked 4 of my favourite patterns and reduced their size to 3” square before printing onto white linen effect card. Once stuck down onto the card base I covered the join with a glitter border. The centre square and scalloped square have been cut with Nesties. All the stamps have been stamped with Memento Paris Dusk and the giraffe, elephant, booties and baby vest have been coloured with ProMarkers, with just a touch of Stickles on the vest.

Please hop across to the challenge blog as there is some fantastic inspiration from the team, including our new guest and team members.

Photo Inspiration at Paper Crafting Journey

 Summer (5)

Morning All. We’re up and about early today as we are off to the nurse for Emily’s 3rd set of vaccinations and then this afternoon I’m off to do a bit of shopping, nothing exciting just need some new jeans, something I dislike actually as I can never find any that I like or that fit me.

Anyhoo, it’s time for a new challenge at PCJ and the theme this time is…

Photo Inspiration

Photo Inspiration

We are being sponsored this challenge by the super duper fantastic Saturated Canary. I used a fabulous digi called Summer as I wanted to challenge myself on colouring dark skin and curly hair…

Summer (4)

I have used Spectrum Noir Pens to colour the image and as I mentioned it really was a challenge. I am not that happy with the results so I think I am going to watch a few more tutorials on You Tube and then practice some more.

I have taken a bit of everything from the photo as my inspiration, the colours pink and green, the flowers and leaves and I even managed to squeeze in a bit of the background colour.

Papers are all from the First Edition Spring Feast 6x6 pad, the flowers are an MFT Die-Namics die, the leaves are a CC Designs Die, the border is the Martha Stewart Half Daisy punch, buttons, gems, pearls and butterfly brad from my stash, sentiment is from Personal Impressions and the banner was cut by hand.
