Day 10 – 24 Days of Christmas Event

To thank everyone for their continued support of Whimsy Stamps, the Whimsy design team are holding a fun Christmas event over on the Whimsy Stamps Blog in the run up to Christmas!
Every day from 1st to 24th December, a member of the design team will be sharing a brand new Whimsy holiday creation. Included in the daily posts will be a LETTER.  Visit the Whimsy Stamps Blog every day, make a note of each letter and keep them safe.  Once you have collected all 24 letters, you should be able to unscramble them and make a 4 word phrase.  Email your phrase to whimsystampscontests@gmail.com by 31st December 2013, and if you've guessed correctly, you will be entered into the draw to win a fantastic GRAND PRIZE!
But that's not all!  There will also be some fun SPOT PRIZES throughout the entire event.  The prizes could be hidden over on the Whimsy Stamps Blog or on any of the design team member's blogs, so be sure to leave a comment on the Whimsy Stamps Blog  and here on my blog post for a chance to win!

Christmas at Paper Crafting Journey

Are You Ready My Friend (3)

This is a sad post for me as it’s my last challenge with the girls at Paper Crafting Journey. I have been on the team for a long time now and will miss the girls and boss lady Wendy so much but I think as 2013 draws to a close it’s my time to move on to pastures new…..anyhoo enough waffle here is my card for the last challenge of the year which is

Christmas

Are You Ready My Friend (5)

This time of year when I realise that (despite starting back in August) I don’t have enough Christmas cards it’s time to keep things simple. Clean layout, quick colouring, a single embellishment and DPs that double as the sentiment are what I like.

Supplies:

  • Image: The Paper Shelter
  • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
  • DP:  These were scraps but I think it’s an old DCWV stack
  • Card: Joanna Sheen Elegance Ice White 300gsm and bottle green card from my stash
  • Dies & Punches: Kars starburst punch
  • Embellishments: Felt snowflake, glitter border, a pearl and doodling

Another Snowman

Rick St Dennis Winter Friends (6)

This is a card made with Rick St Dennis digi. I have sparkled up the star and my blue frame is pearlescent too so I would like to add this to the Sparkle challenge at Less is More

Rick St Dennis Winter Friends (4)

Image is stunning so went CAS on the rest of the card

Rick St Dennis Winter Friends (1)

It doesn’t show well but I printed the image twice and on the top layer cut away the sky to add depth to the frame of the image (hope that makes sense).

Andy with Snowman

Andy with Snowman (2)

Good Evening. We’ve had a busy weekend doing DIY and things but we managed to get the tree up today and will finish decorating it tomorrow. Made some mulled wine too so getting well and truly in the Christmas spirit…lol.

So, the children are in bed, I’ve had a nice warm bath and I’ve put my feet up to watch the Strictly and X-Factor results so I thought I would share this over on Gems of Inspiration and it uses Andy with Snowman

Anything Goes at Whimsy

Long time no see! We have been fighting one set of germs after another in our house for well over a month now :-( and although I have managed to do a little crafting (grabbing a few minutes here and there) old Mr Mojo seems to have taken a hike and I haven’t really felt that the resulting creations were worth the effort :-(
Now we are returning to normal routine (I hope) so I’m going to do a few quick posts to try and catch up on the things I have missed.
First up it’s Whimsy Stamps and you still have a few days left to enter the current challenge at Whimsy Inspirations Challenge. Our theme this month has been…

    Click (3)

It’s been a right old day. Still not very well and I have got an eye infection now to top it all off. I’ve been chasing my tail all week so we took a few hours out this evening to go Trick or Treating. My little boy (3.5 years) dressed up as Dracula and was so excited and although my baby girl looked cute as a pumpkin she kind of had a look on her face that said ‘what are we up to Mummy?’. Here is a quick snap of them…very hard to get as baby girl like to crawl over and grab the camera…

    IMG_7586

And on another sad note it’s my turn to post my last GDT make over on the Digi Bells blog today. I have had a fantastic three months as GDT and want to thanks all the girls there for having me play along. For my final post I have used Click…

    Click (1)

I’ve been using some of those  unloved DCWV Matstacks, that I found at the bottom of a drawer, again. The colours in this stack are very Halloween, so is was nice to use them with a non Halloween image…

    Click (4)

This is one of my favourite layouts at the moment and looks equally good CAS as it does overly embellished…as you can see by the amount of flowers I went with the later on this one.

    Supplies:

    • Image: Click from Elisabeth Bell
    • Colouring Medium: ProMarkers
    • DP: DCWV ‘Latte’ Matstack
    • Card: Joanna Sheen Elegance Ice White 300gsm and cream card from my stash
    • Stamps: Sentiment is from Sarah Hurley’s Rose Stamp Set
    • Ink: Brilliance ‘Graphite Black’ inkpad
    • Dies & Punches: Quickutz/Lifestyle Crafts corner die
    • Embellishments: Paper flowers, pearls, ribbon bow and a Viva Decor Pearl Pen

    Double Double Toil and Trouble..

    Chloe with Cauldron (1)

Happy All Hallows Eve!  My week isn’t going to well, I’ve got a really bad head cold, littlest one is teething, my little boy is home from Nursery as it’s half term and Tuesday I managed to hurt my finger on the tumble dryer!! I bent it backwards…it’s not too painful but is feels a bit numb and stiff :-(

And on another not so happy note it’s my last week as a GDT for I Love ProMarkers, but I’m happy really as I have enjoyed playing along so a huge big thank you to Karen and the Girls for having me join them for October.  The challenge started yesterday and you still have plenty time to enter this weeks challenge of…
    Anything Goes
This challenge is being sponsored by Crafty Sentiments so hop across to the I Love ProMarkers blog to see all the details.

I think I’ve mentioned before I’m not one for Halloween, but my little boy is really excited by it. He has a little costume all ready to go Trick or Treating later and my littlest one has a pumpkin costume.  So for the children I have made another little sign to put in the window. This time I’ve used Chloe with Cauldron

    Chloe with Cauldron (3)
I’ve coloured Chloe with my ProMarkers and as she’s a little witch I tried to get a spooky grey tone to her skin. And spot the hair…inspired by last weeks attempt at pink hair this week I thought I would give green hair a try…

    Chloe with Cauldron (7)
I’ve made another little bat as well (I’m a bit addicted to these at the moment) and if it doesn’t stay still long it gets googly eyes put on it….the kids better watch out!!!

Anyhoo enough feeling sorry for myself, it’s time for a new challenge at A Gem of a Challenge and this week Helen N has chosen a theme of…

    More than 1 Fold

I’ve gone Barclay mad and used Barclay with Presents, Barclay with Envelope and Barclay with Bauble to make a concertina tag card…

    Pink Gem Bears (1)

    A few close-up pictures…

Oh boy, I’m still suffering….this time it’s just a bad headache and thank goodness not a full migraine. It’s affecting my vision a little so I’ll keep this short and to the point.

It’s time for a new challenge at Elisabeth Bell’s World Challenge and the theme this month is…

    Witches

Well it is nearly Halloween so we want to see your little witches. I have used the adorable Belladonna and Hoot from Elisabeth Bells’s digi collection…

    Belladonna (3)

I have coloured this little cutie with my ProMarkers. I’ve used really typical Halloween colours and dug out yet another unloved DCWV Matstack…

    Belladonna (1)

    • Image: Belladonna and Hoot by Elisabeth Bell
