Sketch Time at Critters

I’ve got lot’s of errands to run tomorrow and Wednesday and the car is going to the garage to have a wheel bearing replaced so I’m trying to squeeze all the housework in today….hmph…I’d much rather be crafting. Anyhoo, enough waffle I was going to try and keep this post to the point.

There is a new challenge over at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog and this week it’s a sketch.

I very nearly stuck to the sketch, I just used fancy dies cuts instead of circles and changed the position of the sentiment.

I’ve used an of Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl stamp and coloured her with ProMArkers and FlexMarkers onto Kraft Paper from Paperchase (the little white clouds were added with a white Polychromos pencil). The papers are all from the First Edition Spring Feast paper pad and I’ve embossed the green panel with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder. The sentiment is from a Polkadoodles magazine freebie and has been stamped with Brilliance Graphite Blank ink. And lastly, just a few few bits of Washi Tape that were free with the current issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Home at Sarah Hurley

Just a quick post from me (hurrah I hear you all shout!) as it’s film night tonight in our house and I want to squeeze in a little more crafting as well before the film.  A new challenge has started over at Sarah Hurley Challenge and this time the lovely Jaine picked our theme, which is:

HOME

So your card just needs to feature some sort of house (or it could even be a castle) but on my card I made a little row of houses…

Now as an idea this was pretty good but I’m just not quite happy with the finished card, but frustratingly I can’t put my finger on why.

All the papers used are from Sarah’s new Craft Basics kit (here I’ve used colours from the ‘Vivid’ set).

Don’t forget to pop across to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT have made.

Vintage over at PCJ

It seems like ages since I blogged, but it’s only been a week. I’m slowly catching up with everything. Being poorly really knocked me for six, I got behind with everything, crafting, cooking, cleaning, blogging, etc. So I need to get back into my routine.

Anyhoo enough waffle it’s time for a new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey and this time are theme is:

VINTAGE

Ahhh, I don’t do Vintage! Oh well I guess it’s supposed to be a challenge, so here is my take on it…

IMG_5891

To me vintage is about pretty things, all lace, pearls and gilt and very very girly. It’s how I remember my Nan’s bedroom and dressing table looking when I was a little girl. So that’s the idea I went with, but I’m not it’s vintage. Shabby chic maybe? Or just plain girly?…oh well!

We are sponsored this challenge by the Wonderful Elizabeth Bell (who kindly stepped in at the last minute) and we got to use one of her wonderful images. I chose ‘A Tasty Read’ and it was a dream to colour (with my ProMarkers and FlexMarkers), I’ve also used some fabulous papers from the Authentique Freebird Blush & Delight 6x6 pad, some lace, some Washi tape, some pearls and gems, some small lace flowers, a flourish die, a border die, a brad, a rub-on, some bubble stickers and some fabric.

Hope you will join us for this challenge and don’t forget to pop over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT have made (links in sidebar).

And finally…

Hurrah. This is the last of my posts I needed to catch up on, so normally blogging services should resume shortly…lol.

Monday saw a new challenge start over at Critter Sketch Challenge blog and the theme this week is:

FAIRY/FAIRIES

I almost didn’t make this challenge as I was feeling quite poorly last week and didn’t even want to craft (shock horror) but the doctor gave me some Penicillin and by Sunday I was feeling a little better. So, from the comfort of the sofa and with Hubby on hand with cups of tea I managed a little crating…

IMG_5878

I’ve used a cute little fairy image from our sponsors Inky Impressions, which I have coloured with a mix of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. I’ve teamed her with some fabulous Pink Paislee papers that came free with the current issue of Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine.

The rolled roses were cut freehand, as was the sentiment banner. Just a touch of Stickles and some liquid pearls to finish.

Even though I’m a little late posting you still have time to enter the current challenge so pop across to Critter Sketch Challenge Blog and while you are there take a look at what the rest of the DT have created.

Thanks for stopping by

Still time…

You still have time to enter the current challenge over at Sarah Hurley Challenge where the theme is:

CIRCLES

I made my first telescope card

IMG_5845IMG_5848IMG_5849IMG_5852

Apart from some Kraft card, a small piece of ribbon, a couple of punches and a little touch of Ranger Stickles everything else has come from a combination of Sarah’s Steampunk CD and Wizard Mini Kit.

Thanks for stopping by

Almost back…

I’ve nearly gotten rid of this awful throat infection and I’m starting to get some energy back so I thought I would catch up on some challenges that I have not posted yet.

Let me start with Paper Crafting Journey (I’ll catch up later, or tomorrow, with my posts for Sarah Hurley Challenge and Critter Sketch Challenge). Even though I am late posting this you still have a whole week left to enter the current challenge over at PCJ which is…

THREE OR MORE PATTERNED PAPERS

Now I must admit I cheated a little here. I really didn’t feel up to crafting and as I didn’t want to miss a challenge I used a card I made some time ago but never got round to posting here.

It doesn’t show well in the picture but it’s an easel card and I have used at least seven different patterned papers all from Echo Park to create a little scene. Hope you like?

Don’t forget to hop over to PCJ (at the new address of http://papercraftbliss.com/thejourney/) to see what the rest of the DT have made.

Cough Cough…

Just a quick post to apologise to you all and to all my Team Mates at both Paper Crafting Journey and Sarah Hurley as I’m being a very bad blogger at the moment. Unfortunately I started the week with Flu and it’s progressed to a rather nasty throat infection so as you can imagine I feel really rotten and I know I must be really ill as (shock horror) I haven’t even wanted to craft!

I have a post scheduled tomorrow for a Blog Hop to celebrate the launch of Sarah Hurley’s new CD and I will try very hard to catch up with my challenge posts in a few days time.

Thanks to everyone that has stopped by and left me a comment recently I will come and pay you a visit just as soon as I’m feeling a bit better.

Bye for now

Whoop whoop whoop!

I’ve had an awful evening crafting and am feeling a little frustrated as the card I was trying to make seemed a good idea in my head but just wouldn’t translate to paper. It’s for this weeks LIM challenge. I’m going to give it another shot tomorrow and hopefully have a card I wont be too ashamed to show you.

In lieu of a decent card to share and before I head off to bed I thought I would do a quick post to share my absolutely fabulous news. I have been chosen to join the new UK design team for Kanban. I found out a little while ago and have been dying to share the news but had to wait until it was formally announced. I am thrilled to bits and can’t wait to get creating for them.

I have a favourite Kanban Stamp (well at the moment overall favourite stamp) and it’s a lovely flower flourish stamp so I’ll leave you with a few of my favourite cards using it.

Night all.

Seeing Stars at Critter Sketch Challenge

I’ve completely lost all track of time and I’ve could have sworn today was Monday. I’m knee deep in a big spring clean and I think I may have picked up another cold or something as I feel a bit rough. So I’ll keep this brief (but may pop back later on and update it)

Yesterday a new challenge started over at Critter Sketch Challenge Blog and the theme this week is:

STARS

Here’s my card

IMG_5843

I started with a 6x6 card base to which I have added a piece of silver pearl card. Onto this I’ve added some red die cut stars in various sizes and then over the top a piece of silver stars fabric. This has been hand stitched on using chain stitch and some blue metallic thread from MAdeira. To this I’ve added Magnolia Tilda Princess coloured with ProMarkers, a die cut border, red ribbon and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.
