Sketch Time at Critters

IMG_6013Happy Monday. Hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was gorgeously Sunny here, so hot I had to find a spot in the shade, but I shouldn't complain we will probably back to rain in time for the Jubilee weekend.

It’s time for a new challenge over at Critter Sketch and this week we have another fabulous sketch by Colleen Spangler for you to follow:

I’ve used a cute little Digi from All That Scraps called Spring Kiki La Rue and coloured her with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers, with just a touch of Stickles and Liquid Pearls on the flowers and shoes.

IMG_6013

My patterned papers are from Fancy Pants Summers End 6x6 pad and are mat and layered onto Bazzill Kraft Card and I’ve cut the bottom edge of both with a Tim Holtz Sizzix Wonky Scallop Border Die. The squares have been cut with Nesties (top left is actually a scrap of MME paper but I can’t remember which pad it is from). I’ve replaced the stars from the sketch with some Puffy Clouds cut with a Memory box die and the ribbon has been replaced with couple of MFT Flourishes and some MFT flowers die cut from orange felt (IRL they match the paper but the camera seemed to highlight them and make them look a lot brighter). And to finish just a few gems and pearls.

This little cutie is going to be my Nieces birthday card, she’s turns 18 in August but I don’t have any numbers that looked right, I have my eye on some number dies but I have spent a fair bit on stash this month so may have to save up some pennies before I can buy them. Oh well I’ve till August..lol.

New Beginnings at Sarah Hurley Challenge

I'm here to share my first challenge theme at Sarah Hurley. I have a lot of friends getting married, moving house and having babies so it would have been silly of me to pick a theme that wasn't NEW BEGINNINGS. I would love to see you create something to celebrate a New Beginning. I've already given a couple of suggestions above, but the possibilities are endless...New Job, Graduation, Retirement, etc, etc.

I’ve created a New Baby card for some close friends of my hubbies:

IMG_6009

I drew the Onesie/Babygrow by hand onto Kraft card. I've then used pastel papers from Sarah's Craft Basics Collection and lot’s of die cuts, pearls and an old Cuttlebug embossing folder to decorate.  I've tried to keep the colours neutral as our friends baby isn't due until September and they don't know what they're having.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

I do hope you join us for my first challenge theme and we look forward to seeing your projects - you have until midnight on 3rd June to enter over at Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog.

Anything for Kids

Hands up….who’s enjoying all of this lovely weather we are having? Don't get me wrong I love the nice weather but to have a little cool down I thought I would stop for a cuppa (hot drink to cool down!!! it may sound mad but it works for me) and tell you all about the special new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey.

We are linking up with the Send a Smile 4 kids challenge blog this fortnight and our theme is:

ANYTHING FOR KIDS GOES

So make anything but it must be for kids. Here is my card:

IMG_5998

I’ve  used a gorgeous digi from Digi Stamp Boutique. I picked this as I’m sure lot’s of little girls would love to be a ballerina. She has been coloured with a mix of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. I’ve kept the rest of the card quite simple, with some paper from Echo Parks 6x6 pad Walk in the Park, some Kraft card, some ribbon, pearls, MS Border punch and my new favourite dies the CC Designs Phlox Flower Cutters and the CC Designs Leaf Cutters. The flowers have been cut from felt.

It would be fantastic if you could send your cards off to Send a Smile 4 Kids. They do great work and how amazing would it be to know that your card could put a smile on the face of a child?  You can read more about the work which Send a Smile 4 Kids does here.

So because PCJ are linking up with SAS4K, we will be accepting back links from 19th May 2012 but only if you have entered your card into the SAS4K challenge! Lisa (our PCJ Boss Lady) will be checking.

A New Digi at Jellypark

Over at Jellypark, Claire released a new digi on Friday. It’s the cutest little girl all dressed up in a Nurse Outfit and can be found in the shop here.

I’m a little late sharing my card with you as we’ve had problems with our internet connection. And it’s scary how lost I feel when I can’t get on the internet.

I’ve coloured the image with ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and used papers from my stash (the patterned paper was a magazine freebie).I’ve also used a Tonic Studios Border punch, a CC Designs 5 Petal Flower Cutter and some gems and pearls.

April Showers Bring May Flowers

Hope you all had a fantastic weekend. I know I did. My Hubby was away on a Stag Weekend so Little One and I went to stay with my parents. It was fabulous. He's such a Granddads boy and loves playing outside in the garden with my Dad, helping him plant vegetables and watering all the plants, which is great for me as it gives me a little peace and quiet.

I'm here to share my card for this weeks Critter Sketch Challenge, where the theme this week is:

APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS

IMG_5964IMG_5965IMG_5969

My patterned papers are from the First Edition Spring Drop pad and I've matted and layered these with green card from my stash. My cute little image is Dandelion Clock from Lili of the Valley and has been coloured with a mix of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers. My sentiment is from a Personal Impressions Paula Pascual Set and the tiny stamped motifs are from a Woodware set. I've used my Nesties and the five petal flower die from CC Designs. There is also a bit of ribbon some felt, a few brads, a strip of aqua card and some Stickles Glitter Glue.

Don't forget to hop over to the challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT have made.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Thanks all for stopping by and I hope the weather is a little better in your corner of the globe as it’s turned rainy, grey and miserable here again today.

Hugs

Tags and Tickets at Sarah Hurley

Evening all. Little one is in bed fast asleep so I thought I would pop on and tell you about the new challenge over at Sarah Hurley Challenge Blog. This week we are sponsored by Sarah and the theme is:

TAGS and TICKETS

I've used papers and an embellishment from the English Country Garden Kit, on Sarah's Britannia CD, to make a little tag shaped card.

I've used cream card to make the base and navy card for matting and layering. The flower has been coloured with ProMarkers and decoupaged to give dimension. I've also added a sentiment written on my Dymo label maker, some doodling with a black fineliner pen and a ribbon.

Don't forget to hop over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT have created.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend.

Black plus One at PCJ

Afternoon all, I’m here to share my card for the new challenge over at Paper Crafting Journey. The theme this time is:

BLACK PLUS ONE OTHER COLOUR

IMG_5955IMG_5953IMG_5954

I already had this cute little Tilda coloured up as a Bumblebee (although I think she’s supposed to be a Dragonfly!) so it seemed an obvious choice to go with Black plus Yellow as my colour scheme.

I’ve followed this weeks fab sketch at Sketch and Stash and rotated it 90 degrees anti-clockwise:

SNSSketch87

Tilda has been coloured with a combination of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers and I’ve teamed her with some fabulous papers from the Echo Park Springtime paper pad and also from the Yellow Papermania Capsule Collection. I’ve also used black card from my stash, my nesties, a Tim Holtz border die, a mix of stamps from a Woodware set and a Paula Pascual Personal Impressions set, ribbon, flowers from WOC, hatpins from The Ribbon Girl, gems and pearls from Kanban, Memento Tuxedo Black and Dandelion inkpads and a Brilliance Graphite Black inkpad.

Don’t forget to head over to the challenge blog and see what colours the rest of the DT picked as their plus one.

Counting Sheep

Normally I’m a great sleeper, but not tonight. I couldn’t settle and rather than counting millions of sheep I thought I would have a little play in my craft room.

I have made a card for this weeks LIM Challenge, something I haven’t had time to do for  while (and I do miss it!). This week Chrissie and Mandi have set us a colour challenge and it’s to use predominantly yellow on our cards. Here’s mine…

IMG_5961IMG_5957

I’ve added two photos, but neither are great. As you can imagine the light isn’t great at 1:30am, but seeing as I made the card I thought I would blog it now before I forget.

I took a C6 White Linen Card Blank and embossed the diagonal lines using a scoreboard. The panel has been inked with two shades of yellow ink and stamped using a Lili of the Valley Grunge background stamp and a couple of Hero Arts stamps. The panel has been matted and layered onto a scrap of yellow card and added to the card blank with foam pads. The sentiments are from a Personal Impressions set and are stamped in Brilliance Graphite Black Ink. Finally a few pearls to finish.

Little One and I go to Tumble Tots in the morning and then visit my parents so I suppose I ought to try and get some sleep. Perhaps I’ll try counting those sheep after all.

Guest Designer at Jellypark

I have a memory like a sieve sometimes, so I think I forgot to tell you all that I was going to be a guest designer for Jellypark for the month of May. I love Claire’s images, they are so adorable and are a dream to colour, so you can imagine how excited I was when I found out the news.

My card is using a new digi just released today called Mermaid

IMG_5909

The image is so fabulous I kept the rest of the card very clean and simple. I coloured the image with a mix of ProMarkers and FlexMarkers, just adding some patterned papers from the First Edition Isabelle 6x6 pad, a couple of die cuts, some ribbon and a sentiment from Craftwork Cards.

Don’t forget to pop across to Jellypark Friends Friday Challenge  to see what the rest of the DT have made using this new digi.

While you’re there it’s also time for a new challenge where the theme is:

GIRLY GIRL

I used this theme when making the above card, which just shows you don’t have to use a lot of embellishments to make a girly card, just some pretty papers and an absolutely fabulous image.

It was Hubby’s Birthday yesterday so we are off for a family day out. I’m not sure what we are going to do yet, although it isn’t raining as I type, it looks as though it’s going to start any minute.

Enjoy you day and thanks for stopping by.
